Edit: moved the text over a little bit, to not cover up the flower.  Thanks for the suggestion Simjim91 :) I think it looks better and still feels balanced.

A wonderful collaboration with :icondreamerwhit:, master of fairy illustrations.  This is a companion piece to The Maple Fairy which I wrote for her fantastic illustration of the same name.  This one, the "Lily Fairy", I described as follows:

The Lily Fairy (or Spring Fairy)
The Lily Fairy appears as the sun rises higher in the sky and the forest snow begins to melt. She is responsible for helping the forest "wake up" from its long nap and progress into summer. As such, she can occasionally glow slightly with warmth, a skill she employs often to hasten the melting snow where beds of flower seedlings lie covered. She can also through her touch hasten the growing of leaf buds on trees, as well as influence the growth of other plants and flowers. She has the distinct aroma of fresh lilies as she goes about her work, which is often what signals hibernating creatures to wake from their slumber. She attempts to formally greet each creature as they emerge to lift their tired spirit. As the earth begins to dry, flowers are in bloom, and the tree blossoms are erupting into leaves, the Lily Fairy returns to her home high in the canopy and hands over the forest to the Summer Fairy.

I then let Whitney work her magic, with a few pointers here and there, and then added the short poem written in a format and style that matches the previous piece.
