A piece inspired by and written for A Hundred Million Suns by the amazing illustrator 
. This illustration got me thinking about how technology (like smart phones and tablets) have nearly eradicated the essential act of daydreaming. As soon as you sense boredom, you reach for the device and start "scrolling" facebook (or texting, or whatever) giving your brain constant stimulus and no down time. All those stifled daydreams are accumulating in space, just waiting for you to come and bring them back to life again.

God, yes, if only we could have back a fraction of the time spent on dreaming away. Not, that this is all bad but some of it would have been spent better with fixing things!
