Heron Marsh

A fall trip down into the northern Adirondack mountains on a beautiful, brisk day... with 3 cheerful little girls in tow that scurried about like squirrels.  This is Heron Marsh near the Visitor Interpretive Center located north of Paul Smiths, NY.  There are roughly 25 miles of wide, well groomed trails through some beautiful northern forest on 3,000 acres.  Great care was taken in planning this trail system, and enhanced by discrete wooden lookouts, bridges, lean-tos, walkways, and authentic clean but butt-slivering backwoods privies.  Highly recommended.
